Established in 1921, the Center for Hearing & Deaf Services, Inc. (HDS) is the only community-based nonprofit center in southwestern Pennsylvania that offers a comprehensive program of diagnostic, rehabilitative and support services for people of all ages who are deaf or hard of hearing.
HDS is conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.

HDS' Mission and Services
HDS' mission is to bridge the communication barrier faced by the deaf or hard of hearing populations by providing traditional services, developing and implementing innovative initiatives, and pursuing strategies to make hearing healthcare a high profile issue of community concern. HDS' staff of certified audiologists, doctors, counselors and rehabilitation specialists, is committed to making sure people with hearing loss experience a high quality of life. Currently, HDS offers a variety of services and programs including:

- Assistive Device Center/Outreach Services

In keeping with its mission, HDS has implemented a hearing wellness campaign,
Listen to the Rainbow. This major outreach initiative will promote hearing healthcare by educating the public about hearing loss, how to prevent it, and what can be done to overcome its effects.
